One of my true passions is learning about traditional remedies and natural alternatives that complement modern medicine and approaches. I love reading about ancient methods and discovering what past healers may have used. I have read about, studied, and tried crystal therapy, Reiki, herbalism, Traditional Chinese Medicine, homeopathy, medical qi-gong, and many more. My objective has always been to experience and maintain harmony, vitality, and optimum health.
Gathering information about crystals has definitely been one of my favourites. Discovering their unique properties, as well as uncovering secrets about their healing and spiritual capabilities, is an ongoing pursuit. Since ancient times, crystals have been prized for their beauty, to symbolize power and for their healing capabilities. These days, it seems that more and more of humanity is rediscovering their special qualities to help restore balance in our hectic and stressful lives.
While there are no definitive scientific studies on the efficacy of crystal healing, there is evidence that crystals have been used for thousands of years which does seem to indicate their effectiveness. The ancient Egyptians used quite a variety of crystals for various purposes such as healing, protection and guidance. Ayurvedic medicine in India has information on crystals to help with emotional and physical imbalances in the body. Throughout history, the use of crystals can be found with the Romans, Sumerians, Chinese, Greeks, and various cultures. Further substantiation of the importance of gemstones for our wellbeing can be found in many references in the Bible, where they often symbolize health and godliness.
There are many theories on why crystals are effective at healing the physical and emotional body. Crystals or crystalline solids, an example of which is quartz, are the most stable and orderly form of matter on earth. Some theorists say that it is because of this that crystals are able to align and heal the subtle energy channels of the body.
Another theory is that all matter is actually energy, and what we perceive in our physical material world is not really material at all. This has been demonstrated by multiple Nobel Prize winning scientists. With that in mind, something like a quartz crystal has electromagnetic and piezoelectric properties said to amplify energy – not just to power computers, radios and watches, but also the human body.
A newer theory is that of crystals being able to offer vibrational healing. This theory is based on the idea that everything has its own unique vibrational frequency. Therefore, when a crystal is placed near a person’s energy field, the unique vibrational properties of the crystal are able to harmonize the body and create balance within and around the body. If a person’s body is in a state of unhealthiness, the pure vibration of the crystal is able to resonate with the body, with the crystal either being able to reduce the vibration of the unbalance or amplify the vibration of health.
It is up to each individual to determine which theory, if any, resonates with them. To me, I believe each one is able to provide valid points. I also believe that God has placed many beautiful things on the planet that help us with our journey and help us to maintain a state of harmony and good health so that we can enjoy life to the fullest. I know this includes many nutritious items for us to eat, awe-inspiring scenery, healing botanicals and herbs, and spectacular crystals placed around the planet.
