Goddess Spotlight
I wanted to create the Goddess Spotlight so that it could serve to inspire women to awaken their inner goddess and let their inner light shine. I would love it if we all could feel like we were in a state of enchantment that allowed us to feel beautiful, sensual, confident, passionate and empowered. Where we all felt valued, cherished and loved while truly expressing our inner truth.
Our Goddess this season is Kari Tribble. I have followed her on Instagram the last few years and truly adore her as I find her to be inspirational and very knowledgeable about energy. She has written some pretty amazing blog articles, of which my favorite was Recycling Negative Energy with The New Moon | A Ritual to Help You Feel Better (on Medium.com). I asked Kari some questions about herself, so I could share some details on this beauty in the hope of empowering others to live their best life.
Let’s all Shine Bright and Be Amazing.

Goddess Spotlight Questions:

How did you get started?
This may be a strange answer to this question, but my immediate respond to this question is to say “nature.” I grew up in a small town in Northern Wisconsin which is known for its forests and lakes. My childhood home was in the middle of a forest and I believe being around nature every single day growing up was truly where it all started for me. I became aware of the philosophy of “Animism,” because I grew up dialed in and feeling one with nature. Seeing Spirit in all things. Nature was my babysitter while my parents were gone a lot.

What is your background?
I have been an Intuitive Reader for about 17 years now. I am also an Aesthetician and I own a beauty salon called Avari Beauty. I am also a Beauty Blogger and I connect with companies and their products to share them with the public. Prior to this, I have been in Administration.

Do you have any words of wisdom for others?
Follow and listen to your intuition. Let it teach you how to see the world outside of the box. Open yourself up to your dreams and ask for teachings through them. Walk the line between being human and being spirit as much as you can. Spending too much time in human or spirit zone will cause imbalance.

How are you helping other women?
I LOVE inspiring women to define themselves for themselves. I have given advice and readings and teachings for years surrounding topics of self-awareness and intuition, connecting with the moon for manifestation, running moon groups, and of course helping them feel connected to the adornment process of celebrating their bodies by doing beauty services on them.

How do you give back?
I offer a lot of personal time to listening and providing advice, sometimes doing free live reading events on social media platforms, and I recently connected with a local women’s shelter where I am donating beauty products I receive from companies and plan to expand on what I can provide to help the women there.

What do you do in your free time?
Most of my free time is spent with my family. I have a son, two cats and a boyfriend. I’m also close to my father who is elderly now and I try to see him as much as possible. I enjoy traveling and taking photos with my boyfriend who is talented behind the lens. I also love film. I enjoy getting lost in a movie or tv series. I used to create music. I still try to do that from time to time.

Have you had any personal challenges that you have overcome?
Self-doubt is a major teacher for me. I have had to learn how to believe in myself when others have not or made me doubt myself, or when I simply felt like I couldn’t believe in myself. I felt like I had no voice for a long, long time. On a physical level, I had a near death experience in 2011 after giving birth to my son and experiencing a vicious infection. I survived, but 6 months after that I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Then there were those difficult relationships, childhood trauma… you know, the stuff that therapy was invented for (hehe). The ways in which I have learned to overcome these things have boiled down to these simple techniques:
1) Gratitude
2) Earth Atmosphere Meditation (I envision myself outside of the Earth’s atmosphere to truly see the bigger picture and remember that I am a spirit being inhabiting a human body and the world/my reality is my oyster.
3) Just stop the thoughts and go for it. When the thoughts are overwhelming, silent them out and just get productive
4) Manifestation and affirmation rituals. Working with the full moon to bring things to me.

What are your future plans?
I plan to grow and evolve my business, Avari Beauty, into a multiple location esthetician salon. I will also be launching my own brand of professional eyelash extensions VERY soon and I want to launch some beauty products in the future. I also plan to create educational courses through KariTribble.com to teach some of the spiritual rituals and practices I have developed over the years. I also have plans to start a podcast soon, too!

What has been your biggest challenges in your career and how have you overcome them?
My biggest challenges have been all of the figuring out/workload of launching a business by myself. Learning how to make sure all of the details are set up correctly and then implementing them into practice. Minnesota has very strict salon policies so I have had to jump over a lot of hoops to make sure everything was in place. I’ve learned to ask a lot of questions, ask for help in areas that I could ask for help, and just do one thing at a time until everything was completed.

What have been your biggest successes that you are proud of?
3 years ago, I was pretty poor. I was sick for a long time and I was leaving an unhealthy relationship of 6 years. I was a full time mother and a part time employee and I wasn’t sure if I could support myself and my son after leaving my ex. I did a manifestation course by Sarah Prout and put my entire heart and soul into developing my own lash extension business. In 3 years, I tripled my income and the business is growing and expanding fast. I’ve worked tirelessly to make this happen, but I am in charge of my time and I get to do things with my son I wasn’t able to do before. And my sickness? It completely changed. I am so much healthier and vibrant. I am so proud of myself for doing what I needed to do, against the odds and fear. It’s amazing what we are capable of when we just go for it.

What would you say to young women who are interested in getting into your field?
You contact me and I will help you in whatever way I can. You will love this field of work. Don’t stop learning and working on your technique. Grow, evolve, and dream BIG.

What are some of your favorite self-care tips?
Nature. Always. Go into the forest. Put your feet in the water. Sit near the ocean during a full moon in a white blanket. This is the best kind of self-care medicine you can get. Let those earth frequencies envelop you… and then make sure to give it back some of yours, too.

Do you meditate or pray?
I talk as if I am facing my spirit guides, the Universe, etc in person. I talk to them in my mind and sometimes out loud. When I need to connect in a different kind of way, I will meditate and pray. I also ask for dreams. There are so many ways to connect to all that is.

What is your morning beauty routine? evening?
I cleanse my skin morning and night with Michael Todd Organic Detox Cleanser, then I follow up with my current serum, eye cream, and moisturizer. Some evenings I will use a mask. My favorite mask is by my friend Kendra. Her shop is called @MoonAndBeeApothecary on Instagram. Her detox mask is must. Same with the cleanser I mentioned.

What 3 tips or tricks can you share for feeling and looking your best?
I will tell you the best tip: You need to believe it. If you truly learn how to believe it then you will see the results on the outside by the reaction of actions that occur from such powerful thought. That’s the real secret to life!

What’s a great book you can recommend?
My absolute favorite right now is The Afterlife of Billy Fingers. SO GOOD.

What is your superpower or spirit animal?
My intuition and cats and eagles!

What is your favorite quote?
“Nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of your own mind, absolve you to yourself and you shall have the suffrage of the world.” – Emerson
