Banana Raspberry Smoothie Bowl

Banana Raspberry Smoothie Bowl

I love smoothie bowls as an alternative to the regular sipping smoothies. They are filling, nutrient-packed, delicious and they look incredible. For this smoothie bowl recipe, I added an abundance of super foods on top for a boost of antioxidants. For vegan alternatives, just omit the bee pollen. I added: – Raw cacao beans – Bee pollen – Hemp seeds – Goji berries   Banana Raspberry Smoothie bowl Recipe Serves 1 Ingredients Banana portion 1 frozen banana 3 tablespoons unsweetened coconut milk (or more to help it blend- it should be thick enough to eat with a spoon) 1 teaspoon maca powder 1/2 teaspoon bee pollen 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon Blend and set aside   Raspberry portion 1/2 frozen banana 1/2 cup frozen raspberries 1/2 scoop vegan berry…

Love Spell Potion

Create your own Love Spell Potion

Love Spell What fun would it be as an herbalist if I couldn’t research all the magical properties of botanicals and plants? They can help lift up our vibration to that of pure love when we need a little boost or help us set our intention so we can create the reality we want. To create this Love Spell, we will be using botanicals and a carrier oil, as well as rose quartz and essential oils if you so choose.   Botanicals in our Love Spell: Use a ½ teaspoon of each botanical and any amount of the vanilla that comes out of the pod (the…

Holiday Decorating

holiday decorating

Holiday Decorating The holiday season is upon us. The stores are full of all things Christmas. It can be overwhelming, so I thought I’d let you in on a few of my favourite things in holiday decor. Lit Birch Trees I am a sucker for the lit birch trees by Restoration Hardware. Other brands offer similar trees in different price ranges. These are a holiday staple for me. I use them inside and out and I think they look best when they are done in groupings. I like to nestle bunches of poinsettias at their base. It is such an elegant touch. White Lights I like crisp and clean – white lights always work. The coloured ones just don’t do it for me. I also…

Avocado Hair Mask

hair mask

Now that winter is upon us, the cold and wind make my eyes water and my skin hurt. I have noticed that my hair is getting dry and frizzy, as there is more static electricity in the air. Now is the perfect time to figure out some soothing and moisturizing beauty treatments. An avocado hair mask is a great place to start. You will need: 1 ripe avocado, mashed 2 eggs 1 tbsp honey 1 tbsp olive oil Combine all ingredients in a bowl, apply to hair from roots to tips, and massage vigorously into the scalp. Leave the mask to set for 20 minutes, then rinse clean . Follow by a light shampoo and rinse to remove any remaining oil. The avocado will provide…

Goddess Spotlight – Kristina Matisic

I had just finished journalism school in LA and had moved back to Vancouver…

Goddess Spotlight

Goddess Spotlight

Goddess Spotlight I wanted to create the Goddess Spotlight to inspire women to awaken their inner goddess and let their inner light shine. I would love it if we could all feel like we were in a state of enchantment that allowed us to feel beautiful, sensual, confident, passionate, and empowered; where we all felt valued, cherished, and loved while expressing our inner truth. At some point in our lifetime, we all go through tribulations where our strength and resilience are tested. It allows us to rise up and determine what we are made of. It helps us to learn that we are worthy of respect and love. This has certainly happened to me: I have been faced with challenges and had to decide…
